According to the letter I received, you can either ring 08442 410597 or go to Sky Talk - 6 months Half Price Line Rental for Sky TV customers to register for Sky Talk and this particular offer - there was no end date to the offer, so I would assume that you would have until at least the price rises are due to happen to take them up on it, ie, 1st March 2009. That is pure guesswork though.

If o2 came out now and guaranteed their prices and service levels for 18mths then fair comment, but there are very few guarantees in life I'm afraid.
I recently left sky as O2 offered me free broadband for a year and what a big mistake i made O2s broadband is terrible at peak times their speeds drop as low as dial up speeds and all O2 can say is they know their network is overloaded and they cant tell you when its likely to be sorted. Im about to pay cancellation fee and come back to sky. Would sooner pay a bit more and have a fast and reliable service.

Hey, that's fine. Everyone is perfectly entitled to their opinion - just repeated so many times is a bit over the top

Sorry you're having problems. My own experience of O2 has been nothing but positive. I guess they can't get it right all the time but they seem to have done a good job so far for most customers. Just not for you it would seem

re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

This isn't the right thread to discuss this in detail but are you sure it is O2 (I'm not saying it isn't, just may not be) and not something to do with your connection e.g. a wireless issue, PC, etc?

If you'd like to go through this maybe you could start a new thread?

PS Is that the 8meg LLU product (Standard) or the 8meg Connect equiv (Access)?

re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

It is the 8meg standard LLU.
Just spoken to O2 tech support they have checked out and apparently its a congestion problem with the southampton exchanges which are waiting to be upgraded but as of yet they have no dates for this but they have said they will phone me in 7 days and update me on the situation.
Cant fault their customer services just want my speed issues sorted which hopefully will be sooner rather than later.

re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

      >Does anyone know the legalities of this? Surely it is an unfair practice to say 'take this or pay more'? I doubt if I will leave Sky for my broadband, but it makes me think twice.

Why on Earth would you think it illegal or unfair? It's a free country, Sky or you or anyone else can sell legal services at any price they like, and if you don't like the price you can walk away, just as I am going to do.
