      ummm

      Now that's interesting.

I wonder if it will mean that they up the ante and offer upto 24meg headline speeds.

For someone who is a distance from the exchange, ie myself, I really cannot see how they could improve my speed. Unless there is something we don't know about Sky's LLU technology.

Anyone know what the likely max upload speed will be should it be the 24mb service?

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

lo all, i just got a call from sky saying my net package is going up in price on a set date.
from 10.00 to 15.00 as any 1 else had the same call?

they also said i would have a letter in the post stating this, but it aint come yet.

i was offered a deal so my net costs wouldn't go up, but i couldn't take it as my contract with bt aint ended yet, so i couldn't take the deal.

any way i was just wondering what any 1 else feels about the costs going up?
im not to happy, i was told it was going up ages ago but not this much.
im happy with skys services just not with the extra costs.

if ive posted this in the wrong thread please move it to a thread you think best

      thanks

Have a look at the first post in this thread, where I have moved your post.

No one was very happy about the increases.

I am actually thinking about ending my sky contract after the price rise and maybe moving to Be broadband, yeah I get no sky TV but then half the stuff I watch now is on freeview.

Re: Update on Sky Broadband pricing changes

I must agree that the increases are not huge, although like others I already pay SKY 85/90 per month, with various upgrades and Im not prepaired to pay any more. I have shopped around and my best deal for broadband and phone is Orange, although Im unsure as no one ever says that they want to go to them, just O2 ??

      Orange Home Ultra
      20MB Download speeds
      Unlimited usage
      Free router
      Inclusive anytime calls
      Line rental included

All for 21.00 per month, which for me is cheaper than SKY for a similar package.

Would anyone recommend Orange and if so why ? and if not why ?
