How are trading standards allowing Sky to get away with this??

Its like saying you must take out our phone service or you pay another fiver a month! I may take this further....
      Blackmail? lol
Read the Sky broadband T&C's - it states prices are subject to change.
Also, Sky Broadband is exclusively available to SKY TV subscribers, They are practically giving it away as it is.
BT voted the worst customer services in 2008!
Is it not about time that Ofcom done something about the shoddy company that is BT?

Re: Update on Sky Broadband pricing changes

its simple to do , I signed up for sky talk in early dec, skytalk then started on 26 th dec, I thought they would charge me extra 10 for skytalk but, when i signed for it, it said in summary that there is a free charge for skytalk.

I think maybe due to me having multiroom setup??...

note: i chose no in the poll, due to me already signed up for skytalk.

If it is free you must have signed up for the basic Sky Talk, Sky Talk Unlimited is 5 a month.

Re: Update on Sky Broadband pricing changes

I am trialing basic sky talk to see if I spend over 5 on phone calls per quarter, If I do spend over 5 then I will be going for sky talk unlimited setup.

Yes it is a really good deal if you make a lot of calls to international destinations. I know I would be out with the begging bowl at the local mall to pay for my wife's calls to Canada if we didn't have it.

Re: Update on Sky Broadband pricing changes

      Hi,

I've received a letter today confirming that my Sky BB Mid is increasing from 5 to 10.

I got another letter saying the same thing a couple of months ago. but after finding the following on here.........

New customers to Sky who have taken up Sky Broadband in the 6 months prior to the 25th November - and are not signed up to Sky Talk - will be exempt from the price changes until January 2010.

...... I rang them and they confirmed my rental will stay the same.

But it isn't by the sounds of it, although I joined SKY in Sept 2008.

I'm thinking of calling them again, but lasrt time I referred to the above statement they knew nothing about it.

Does it appear on an official SKY source ??????

Also, I hate calling 08xx numbers but it appears the alternative number on saynoto0870 is now blocked.

Despite giving them 50/month they are getting on my nerves here and I'm giving serious thought to cancelling the whole lot just because I don't want their Sky Freetime.

I don't mind them ibncreasing prices, but doubling it when you're still in minimum 12 month term is beyond a joke, and I object to being blackmailed into taking a service I DO NOT WANT.
