Just read on DigitalSpy that the deal has failed.

I'm really disappointed. It now seems we will never be in Sky's network area and will continue to pay 17 for Connect.

Its not over until the fat lady sings. Plus, Sky have not announced that they have pulled out. Hang on in there. It may still happen.

A Sky spokesman refused to comment on the status of negotiations

Sky Abandons Plans To Buy Tiscali

Sky has apparently abandonned plans to purchase its Italian rival Tiscali for around 450 million as it plans to close the gap between itself and the other two ISPs ahead of it, Virgin Media and BT.

Re: Sky To Buy Tiscali Broadband?

Without sounding rude, would you mind removing some of the above and then putting a link to the original article, so that we cannot be accused of copyright theft?

Usually a paragraph and a link to the article is sufficient.

Re: Sky To Buy Tiscali Broadband?

You will probably see a Broadband standalone company set up which will be run separately and owned by Easynet. Sky would be unable to bill standalone broadband subscribers with there current internal systems however there are other broadband providers like "UK Online" who also operate under Easynets web.

Can you blame them if they're just after that, though?
They could then tweak it and then we could have wonderful VOD (which could be free if you had Max...). I suppose I can dream
