      Just an FYI.

Was previously running at 5.4Mbps (actually it's between 5.0 and 5.8 Mbps over the 8 months I've had Sky). Post update it seemed to be the same but after a couple of days I saw the sync speed drop to 4096 and it has stayed on that since (reboot syncs at 5.x then drops back to 4096 fairly soon after). My line is not great so stability wasn't excellent at 5.x Mbps (disconnects in the evening when the SNR dropped to 2db or so) but the SNR value doesn't go below 9db now and I have seen the odd disconnect.

Not sure if this is some form of line monitoring and/or the new firmware. Prefer how it is now although I think 4096 could have upped a little bit higher!

Updated at 20.10 today. A slight improvement in speed - 3776 to 3904 - but the noise margin has increased slightly to accommodate. Previously anything over 3776 would lose sync in the evening and eventually end up there anyway. Consequently I'd stopped re-booting for higher daytime speeds a long time ago.

Line att. same as before: 52 db.

So far so good, I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Sky have now agreed for us to host the new FW for the Netgear V2, we are just awaiting for the FW to be delivered to us, and then we will make it available for download.

Re: Netgear V2 New FW Details

Hmm, mine updated a few weeks back, and my upstream dropped from a solid 768 (not changed in 18 months) to a rubbish 416, even after reboot etc... Downstram has increased marginally from a tad over 6000 to 6688....

Newsreader, we are on the same exchange, has yours been affected?

That doesn't sound like a firmware issue - I wonder if Sky has changed your profile for some reason?

      Hi Mike

Nope - Mine is solid and has been for ages. The only issues I have had was Christmas 2007, whereby I had similar symptoms to yours. Which I put down to Christmas lights or similar.

Re: Netgear V2 New FW Details

Can't say I really noticed the firmware upgrade until reading this thread and then checking on the router itself.

My stats are the same as ever not noticed any difference in sync speed or connection stability.

      Code:
Connection Speed 16379 kbps 797 kbps
Line Attenuation 14 db 7 db
Noise Margin 11 db 16 db
There is no Tier 3, only Zhul or rather the Customer Solutions Team...

It would appear that this is not now actually going to happen. As the rollout is automatic, there is no real need for people to actually have the file, allegedly.
