Even more HD channels on their way to you

Last week we launched Sky Movies Action & Thriller HD, Sky Movies Modern Greats HD and Sky Movies Drama HD on the Sky+HD platform. Itís great to hear youíve been enjoying the new additions.

As promised another four high definition channels - Sky Movies Comedy HD, Sky Movies Sci-Fi & Horror HD, Sky Movies Family HD and Sky Real Lives HD - follow later this month.

In less than a week, we're back with even more good news and more importantly more HD channels. Weíre delighted to confirm that Crime & Investigation Network HD and The Biography Channel HD are set to join Skyís HD channel line-up in November. Both HD channels, will offer separate schedules from their standard definition services, with around two-thirds of each channels' programming being in native high definition.

With the addition of Crime & Investigation Network HD and The Biography Channel HD to Sky+HD, Europeís leading high definition service provider, we will have 28 dedicated HD channels and broadcast over 10,000 hours of high definition entertainment a month.

As always thanks for your encouragement, we look forward to hearing your comments.

Wishing you even more happy HD viewing!
      Back with more soon.

      Sky+HD Team

Hmmmm serious lip synch issue with new boxes, dodgy power supplys with the old ones.

Can Sky please source a manufacturer that can actually make a box that works?

Re: Even more HD channels on their way to you

It's alright Sky bragging about how many HD channels there are/will be but what really gets my goat are the number of programmes broadcast on those channels which are NOT HD.
Another thing which is happening on Sky generally is the increase in the number and duration of advertisements. The number of times a programme starts and within five minutes there are five minutes of adverts. An old thirty minute programme now takes an hour. Thank God for Sky+, I record the programmes I really want to watch and skip through the adverts.

All channels are limited by the regulator on the number of adverts they can show per hour. Sky have not increased the number of adverts they show as they can't.

Re: Even more HD channels on their way to you

All that Sky have done is moved the "traditional" ad markers that were put in place by the terrestial channels, other channels such as paramount has also followed suit.

It means if somebody is channel hopping they are more likely to see a program on those channels rather than just more ads.
