it's pot luck, but looking at "sam knows" TalkTalk is going LLU so it shouldn't be long that sky/easynet follow suit.

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
To be honest I would want these improvments.
The abilty to use my own router, the old white v1 I have is frankly rubbish and considering UKOnline allows the use of your own equipment on the easynet network it seems a bit odd that sky still insists on their stuff.
An increase in the upload speed, I currently get 10meg down/764k up on max, I would rather have 8meg down and 1-1.5 meg/sec upload speed, due to the games I play have their bottlenecks on the upload speed.
There are others but for now I have requested my MAC code last week (still no sign of it from Sky) and will be off to O2 as soon as I can (as long as the exchange doesn't fill up again by then.)I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
So are you now going to change your name to "Decided Adrian"

Seriously, I sympathise with you but my experience has been different. The first router, DG834GT, I received died in less than 3 weeks. The one I have now has run faultlessly for over 2 years. It seems there are good ones out there, if you are lucky enough to get one.

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
Unfortunately the 1st V1 died after a few weeks and gave me an electric shock as a parting gift.
As per Sky's box replacement policy I got my replacement in a plain brown box and was obviously a returned one as it looked like it had been dropped out of a plane. The cases has unbeliveable damage, scratches etc
As I said Sky's broadband product is already good, but they do need to address certain areas otherwise they could see just a stagnation of their customer base with just as many signed up that leave.I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
i'm on my second V1 router, no problem with the speed on either, but the old one decided to unscrew the airal's f connector on it's own, even after doing it back up.
that's the only problem i have had, i must be one of the lucky ones.

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
Is the original post a genuine statement from Sky, or a wind up?

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
I don't know why you think it is a wind up as it is a legitimate statement from Sky, they do occasionally posts on forums such as these.

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
I didn't know it was a wind up. I was just unsure of it's sincerity!
Thank You for clarifying matters for me.

Re: A message from the Sky Broadband Team
The exact same messages get posted in digispy forums.
The forum admin (both here and digispy) go at great lengths to ensure these are genuine posts from Sky.
For example, these posts are made from IP addresses that are at Sky's HQ.
