Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
The Fair Use Policy has been removed from the Sky Broadband Max product, enabling Sky to offer the UK's only 'truly unlimited' broadband service. This applies to new & existing Sky Broadband Max customers and the Sky Broadband Contract has been updated to reflect this.
The information that we have received, in an official capacity albeit, not from Sky, also confirms that Traffic Management, is being applied on the Sky Connect package,
Please note that where 'NO Fair Use Policy applies' is used, this must be clearly referencing the Sky Broadband Max product, as traffic management measures are in effect on Sky Broadband Connect.
Update:
Sky have now posted this communication regarding Sky Max being unlimited.

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
I noticed the FUP had been removed from the T & Cs and the bit about Connect slipped in. I am still fairly sure that the bit under Traffic management of our Network is meant to refer to Sky's LLu service and not Connect as it states.

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
Fair point, however, I thought any change of the T and C's would have to be sent out or everybody notified, just in case people want to reject them or not.
Interestingly enough, as we all know Max, Mid and Base are all LLU provisions, however, 'NO Fair Use Policy applies' only applies to Max.
Still its a historic announcement, for those of us who download Linux Distros.
We no longer have to worry - all for a tenner a month.Last edited by NewsreadeR; 15-09-08 at 02:50 PM.

I thought so too! Removing the FUP is probably OK as they are not reducing the Service, just confirming it, but the bit about Connect being throttled is a reduction in service, so should have been notified. Likewise if it does apply to LLU.
I think you forgot the
after Linux distros.

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
Well fair play to Sky, finally changing the terms to actually give us what they said they would, fully unlimited downloads (of linux distro's like everyone else) for the great price of £10....
Shame for Sky that marketing it would be hard as they'd have to admit it wasn't what they were offering before to their customers...

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
^^^^^^^^^^
But that is what they did offer! All they have done is remove the FUP which every other ISP has. That is a great marketing ploy. Just imagine the comarisons
BT Unlimited Downloads (but see small print)
Virgin Unlimited Downloads (but see small print)
Tiscali Unlimited Downloads (but see small print)
SkyMax Unlimited Downloads (WITH NO SMALL PRINT)
It is fairly obvious that Sky have many more on Max who do not download very much, who moe than make up for the few who do.

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
According to my download stats, I have downloaded 15gb since May 2008. I am quite happy to help subsidise all those Linux Distro downloads, throughout the UK - As I am saving a fortune each monthIt is fairly obvious that Sky have many more on Max who do not download very much,
