Or you walk across the Clyde on snowshoes
I don't know how Sky decide which exchanges to enable. Your exchange has double the number of connections mine has, yet mine was enabled about 18months ago. You would think the larger exchanges would be done first. It could be because your area has cable, so not so many have Sky TV?

Yeah I have wondered myself...they have done the surrounding areas like Paisley and as far down as say Largs but seem to have forgotten about the Inverclyde area...although to be fair it is a very forgettable area

Re: Sky MAX Broadband, is Truly Unlimited
Im glad they have seen sense and decided to give the customer what they requested. Myself dont download a lot but I dont like the idea of being throttled but so far my download speeds via torrent have been constant 1.6Mbps.
Was going to move ISP's to BE Internet but happy to stay where Iam.
Regards

Me too. I get a constant 1.6-1.7 meg and I hardly download a thing but its nice to know that there is no problem how much I download. I was going to go to BE as well (my exchange is enabled in november) but I think I'll stay put. I just hope this doesn't back fire on sky and they start getting the wrong kind of customer (very very very heavy downloaders). Problem with an announcement like this they probably will. I hope they don't slow us down too much.

Hello Ged,
Yes I may be being a little cynical!
But my point is, that Sky does still have somewhat of fair use policy. Only now it is within their terms and conditions.
It’s great that Sky now says you can download “as much as you want, whenever you want”, this is definately a positive, but I think it’s important to note that they do still reserve the right to “restrict your online activities” if your downloading is considered excessive.
So where will they will draw the line between acceptable and excessive? How much would you have to download to have a “detrimental effect on other customers’ quality of service”?
Only time will tell…
