WEDNESDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2008-Sky has appointed Andy Brent to the role of Group Brand Marketing Director with responsibility for brand marketing across its growing range of home entertainment and communications services. Mr Brent will join Sky on 1 October 2008 and report to the company's Chief Executive, Jeremy Darroch.

Mr Brent has held senior marketing roles at a number of leading retail and FMCG companies, most recently as Group Brands Director at Alliance Boots. He joined Boots in 2005 as Marketing Director and was previously Chief Marketing Officer at Burger King International. He began his marketing career with 13 years at Procter Gamble, where he held a number of roles including Director of the company's Home Cleaning Care division for the UK.

On joining Sky, Mr Brent will take overall responsibility for brand marketing across Sky's growing range of products and services and exclusive content. Building on the success of its See Speak Surf and Sky+ advocates campaigns and the launch of its Believe in better framework, the company aims to broaden further its appeal, reinforce its commitment to better choice, quality and service, and highlight its positive contribution to life in the UK and Ireland.
