well i own a hdtv and enjoy watching hdtv movies on it (once you get the hd bug theres no goin back)
high deff movies (transport streams) that i get from newsgroups are usually 15gb and over i was well over 500gb a month d/l usage (on 8mbit)
Yet my isp (fusion media networks) never moaned once
ill be downloading alot less when im on sky connect package now that my pc is capable of running h.264 movies which have a smaller file size

I note the above comments with interest, however has anyone on any download tariff actually been sent a "bad boy email"

No known or documented case of anyone being told off for using their quota or everyone else's.

Would be helpful if anyone does receive an email in the future if they publish the contents here

Re: Sky Broadbands Fair Usage Policy

      Hi All,

I have only recently been looking to possibly use Sky unlimited broadband as I tend to downlad anywhere from 70 gig to 270 gig a month. My current ISP allows me 30Gb peak 300Gb off peak per month for 19.99 which I think is pretty good. As people on this thread have already stated it's not clear exactly how much you can download also as stated if you had the option to opt out if you exceed what Sky think is reasonable I would be prepared to sign up pronto for 10 per month

I'm on mid and I download around 5/10GB a month so I think I'm safe But that FUP seems very fair to me

I know this is kind of off the topic but how do you see how much you've downloaded? Is there some kind of program?

      THanks

You have to monitor it yourself, there are no tools provided by Sky.

tbh Not one person has ever been kicked off for exceeding (reported on here anyway)

      Try this page:

      SkyUser - Tools and Tutorials

And look for Measuring your useage

Re: Sky Broadbands Fair Usage Policy

i have done about 40gig+ a months (mainly torrents) but it's so fast for a 700mb dl it shouldn't matter about those, FUP or not if your dl'ing/ul'ing large files (i mean like 20gigs worth) constantly then you might have a problem.

      i'm dl'ing 16 gb's on one torrent but have uploaded nearly 30gig, i think i might get a letter
