received letter with sky mag today. Subscriptions going up from 1 September for sky tv as if they are not already charging enough considering how many repeats are on there.

There is also a double page advert in the mag for the new price. No dates listed for the start but when I called to order I was told I would have to pay £259 unless I took Sky Talk (as well as the BB I already have) after which the price would be £150 as advertised. To say I am unhappy with Sky is an understatement at the moment.

Re: 1st July Sky HD will change to Sky + HD.
Does anyone think it's worthwhile waiting until Sky have switched to the newer HD STB's (ie not the old Thomson ones with PS problems)? I'd like to go HD and the new offer seems about the best I'm going to get, the question is when do I order? Also I note some comment about an additional discount of £15 if you order on-line, will that aslo apply and is it an upfront discount or is it deducted from your monthly bill?

It will show as a credit on your bill from what I understand. As for waiting, hard to say, whether or not the new boxes are any better or not.about an additional discount of £15 if you order on-line, will that aslo apply and is it an upfront discount or is it deducted from your monthly bill?
Here's an image, but it don't show us anything apart from the new logo.Last edited by NewsreadeR; 29-06-08 at 11:10 PM.

Re: 1st July Sky HD will change to Sky + HD.
It's the 1st of July. So I went on-line to apply for an upgrade to HD without multiroom from my Sky+ installation. Not easy! And Sky's maths are beyond comprehension. I currently pay £27/month and with HD would expect it to be £37. I added Sports and Sky came up with £72. Is the Sports mix really £35/month? Their maths is:
Monthly Costs
Current Monthly Cost 27.00
Monthly TV Cost 35.00
HD Mix 10.00
Monthly Broadband Cost 5.00
Monthly Talk Cost 5.00
Total Monthly Costs 72.00
One-Off Costs
Sky HD box 150.00
Standard Set Up 60.00
Total One-off Costs 210.00
Doesn't make sense. So I won't bother after all!

Re: 1st July Sky HD will change to Sky + HD.
Unless he has muti-room would be a extra £10pm.So would be £75pm which I used to pay in the past on sky subs.
I missed the good old days when I used to pay under £30pm Sky subs lol
Sky TV Movies Sports and mixes £45pm
Sky HD £10pm
Sky broadband £10pm
Sky Muti-Room £10pm
£75pm without Sky Talk WOW.Last edited by totalwar; 01-07-08 at 04:45 PM.

Re: 1st July Sky HD will change to Sky + HD.
I went back later and tried to buy the upgrade to the Sky+ HD box and didn't try the addition of Sky Sports. The result was as expected, I was charged an extra £10 for the Sky HD Mix so that takes me to £37/month. That's £35/month cheaper than trying to add Sky Sports at the same time. The box is £150 + £60 installation. Installation promised for Saturday.
