      Go!View - Watch Sky Content on your PSP

      Go!View, a joint venture between Sony and Sky will be launching on 30th June.

      It will be the first official PSP Download service in Europe, and will be available on a pay-per-view basis. Although, no prices are known at the moment.

      There are apparently five easy steps to get this content;

      • Log on
      • Choose what you want to watch
      • then use your PC to download it
      • Then transfer it to your PSP, (I thought they were easy steps?)
      • Watch it

      I think that they should add an extra sixth step;

      • Pay for it

      Why on earth can you not just download it straight to the PSP? Or is that technically not possible due to DRM issues?

      Sorry, but I think I will give this the same lack of interest as I did the Sky Player, but then that's a completely different story.

      Now, if Sky could deliver a service like the iPlayer, and as easy, I may be tempted, until such time, I won't be buying a PSP.

      Re: Go!View - Watch Sky Content on your PSP

      Some more information, sent to us this morning.

      The payment for the content occurs when you're synchronising it from the PC to the PSP.

      There's a license file that has to transfer to the PSP with the content in order to be able to play it. When the transfer occurs, that's when the payment is deducted from your e-wallet (like PayPal).

      You can store it on your PC indefinitely until you transfer it, and you can only transfer the same item 3 times in a month (paying for it once). You'd do this if you transferred it, then removed it, then realised you wanted it again for example.

      The services is aimed at commuters and long distance travellers. For parents when they take their children on long journeys (holiday), and students/teenagers and/or people who haven't got line of site for Sky dishes.

      Prices for subscriptions are only a few pounds, payable monthly. One of payments for some content from 99p.

      why can't we just get the skyplayer on it, and then have to login using your sky account details to use it. i know you need 1 sky stb per PC you want skyplayer on (which does take the ****) but the PS3/P should be used as a tool, along with the Wii and 360 to push sky's content into the public.

      it's a shame they are recharging for this

      Re: Go!View - Watch Sky Content on your PSP

      I'd have said this was Sony driven, not Sky. It's a Sony consumer-base.

      Sony doesn't want its customers held to the same restrictions as Sky's.
