Sky have now exclusively released the new FW for the White V1 Netgear Router to SkyUser Members / Guests for download and it will also appear on their website over the next few days.
If you do not feel comfortable following this procedure, please refrain from attempting to upgrade your router's FW. Sky will upgrade your router over the next few weeks anyway. This is for the benefit of the more technical members / guests.
Please follow these instructions for upgrading your Firmware. Also note that this firmware only applies to the White Netgear V1 Router, and will not work on any other Sky Router.
Before you attempt to do this, please read the following information to familiarise yourself with this procedure.
1. Use the link/s at the bottom of this post, to download the Firmware image file to your PC
2. Right click on the link and select 'save as'
3. Then choose a location to save the file, it is probably a good idea to save it to your desktop for ease of use later.
4. You should now have on your desktop (or wherever you saved it to) the following file: DG834GT-1SKUKS_V1.03.87.img
5. Once you have saved the image to your Desktop, go to a Browser Window or Click on this link

Login: admin
Password: sky (or whatever your password is)
Now, you are logged in:
If you wish to backup your settings: (recommended)
1. Click on Backup Settings
2. Click on Backup
3. Save the netgear.cfg file to your Desktop or somewhere else to keep it safe.
We are now ready to start the update off:
1. Select Router Upgrade
1. Select browse, then navigate to your Desktop or wherever you saved the file called, DG834GT-1SKUKS_V1.03.87.img and then select it
2. Click on Upload and then wait for the procedure to complete
DO NOT SWITCH THE ROUTER OFF OR INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS WHATSOEVER
DO NOT SWITCH THE ROUTER OFF OR INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS WHATSOEVER
No we really do mean it!
DO NOT SWITCH THE ROUTER OFF OR INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS WHATSOEVER
Once this has finished upgrading the router will reboot itself and then invite you to login. Your details should be exactly the same as before.
It's as simple as that!
