      Hi

Regarding the password would it be the same one that you log onto the sky website to view your mails???
I have put that password in a few times and it has locked me out. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do now???
      Thanks
      Nik

What are you trying to do? If you are trying to use a non-Sky router with Sky, have a look at this thread.-
Non-Sky Router Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The password you need is the 'secret' one in your router, obtainable from here-
      https://www.cm9.net/skypass/

If you are simply trying to enter the router settings, the username is admin and password sky.

Re: Get your Sky V1 Firmware here!

      Hi

Sorry it was my fault not reading the instructions properly. That will teach me :=)
I wonder if you can answer a quick question I am using WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) I still use the password that was given to m from sky. Is it wise to choose my own password?? If so how do I go about setting that up the other question is I have seen the box Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID) checked. is this also correct??
      Many thanks

Re: Get your Sky V1 Firmware here!

You should certainly change the WPA key. You can use just about anything you like, it does not have to be caps and can be numbers or any printable ASCII character, $%& etc. as long as it consists of 8 to 63 characters.

If you have a strong key there is no harm in broadcasting the SSID.

Re: Get your Sky V1 Firmware here!

Delete the current default key at the bottom of the wireless settings page and enter your own. Remember to click Apply and that you will have to change the key on your PCs.

I would stick with letters (upper and lowercase) and numbers, especially on netgears as certain symbols can cause unexpected results.
