      You can off set that if you do paper free billing as that is going up to a discount of £1.75 I believe.

      As mentioned by Alan B (above) with paper-free billing and paying by direct debit, it's possible to get linerental from BT for £10.50 per month (only 50p more than Sky).

      These 'certain' SkyTalk call rates are calls to 0845 and 0870 (basically most common big companies and government departments have one or more of these type of numbers).

      Due to the announcment of increase in call prices to these numbers, it now means that SkyTalk and VirginMedia are the two most expensive landline providers for calls to these two numbers.

      BT and all other landline providers charge less for calls to these two numbers than Sky and VirginMedia do.

      A full breakdown of changes (including increases) can be found in this thread.

      Don't forget that providing you have BT line rental you can always prefix any call with 1280 to route that call via BT rather than SKY or what have you, useful for those 0845 numbers :-}

      My package (Entertainment Pack, Sports Mix and Movies 2) is going up on 1-9-08 from £42 to £44.

      BTW, such increases are a VERY regular thing - every year, year after year after year.
