I am defenitly paying line rental to BT and not to sky.
      That's odd.

I can't think what might have caused that.

Even with my Orchid programmed to automatically send 0845 calls via BT (i.e. with a 1280 prefix) weekday daytimes, dialling the 1280 prefix manually would just send the call out in the same way as you dialled it.

It's worrying for those on Sky Talk though with Sky's new 0845 (and 0870) prices being such a rip-off.

I just tested 1280 to my mobile that works I also just tested it on a 0845 lloyds tsb number and it works.

The number that didnt work was a virgin media number, very interesting.

Re: SkyTalk Changes effective 15th April 2008 (& 1st July)

Ok have just finished programming it, is a bit tedious but once get hang of what needs doing its ok.

For now I have default 0s no routing (so over sky talk), 08 over BT 1280, 09 barred, 123 barred, 999 exclude rule, local daytime 1280 BT eve/weekends no routing (sky talk) I assume since I set no 01 02 03 they be using sky talk.

I probably will sign up to some other providers now I have this device.

1 - daytime non inclusive national/local calls are cheaper on BT or sky talk?
2 - If I program skys full number into the device will it take precendence over the 08 routing over BT?

      What? 6p connection and 4p/minute?

Use 18185 instead - 5p for an 01, 02 or 03 call of any duration.

Better still, PM me an email address and I'll send you an Excel file of the programming I use.

A good combination for money saving IMHO.

Excel file showing how 'the Heinz program' looks in CW Client on the way by email.

P.S. As the first post in this thread demonstrates, programming the Orchid so you avoid using Sky for any 084/087 calls is a priority!

Re: SkyTalk Changes effective 15th April 2008 (& 1st July)

ok made more changes although I had problems connecting to orchid server today.

Now my mobiles via 18185 and 01 national calls daytime via 18185.

08 was already on 1280 overside so via BT.

      --edit--

I just now added the 02 national and channel islands.

Does 18185 on sky talk CPS require 128018185 or just 18185 works? I think it works as 18185 as I heard a 0p min voice when I tested it.

Using a 1280 prefix overrides CPS 'default routing' and sends that call via BT. Using a 18185 prefix overrides CPS 'default routing' and sends that call via 18185. There's no need to use both.

Like I put on another post I'm switching over to hereJoin Primus Saver for Cheap Landline Calls to Local, National & International Numbers it says its 10.49 but when I rang them they say its 9.99. Also lists prices for calls to mobiles, would be nice to know what Sky charge but I cant find this anywhere.
