Wow, that's one version number higher than Netgear's latest standard firmware for the DG834GT (V1.02.14). That only has A2pB022c.

When the router boots with the new firmware it has a slightly different action.
The internet lamp flashes amber while it searches for a broadband connection as before but now, rather than going green immediately it stays on solid amber for around 30 seconds before turning green.
Do you think that solid amber is the broadband connection and solid green means its logged into the network? Suppose you need to plug one into a broadband enabled line that doesn't have Sky.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

That sounds quite plausible. And 30 seconds sounds like the (unduly long) length of time that Sky's authentication servers take.

I wonder if they've fixed the major annoyance whereby if the router retrains, the PPP connection is deliberately torn down and a new one set up. This turns what should be just a brief blip in connectivity that you'd hardly notice, into a long pause of anything up to 90 seconds, along with the inconvenience of having to restart downloads etc. because your public IP address has changed.

Here is an image of the routers on my street and their stats. Can someone explain to me why my SNR and SNR+ is know where near what everyone elses is like?

The red line is my router and stats.

My Security is actually WPA-TPK but it says WEP on here for some reason.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

Just wondering what is the firmware I should have if I have been updated.

      Currently I have V1.03.87.

      Thanks

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

      V1.03.87 is the latest version.

It's just so piggin' annoying. If I had the new firmware on my router, I'd be able to post a flash image with very little effort.

The SNR value given from NetStumbler is that of the wireless signal between your PC/Laptop card and the router. Your router's value is higher as it's in your house

      **Edit**
Don't worry about the WEP reading though. NetStumbler hasn't been updated for sometime so it's likely to be program related rather than your router actually being in WEP mode.
