This new update sounds good. I want it :P Others on close exchanges have got it but not me. NEAYC still not updated.

I've checked my router logs and where does it say it has checked for an update, if this bit is ovbious then my router isn't checking at all. There is no mention of a check for a update.

Maybe because that's the target noise margin! I imagine the people who are reporting that their router's been upgraded are going to be mainly people who've had problems, and that in turn means people who are syncing at speeds below the maximum for their chosen Sky Broadband package.

James - earlier on in the thread you mentioned that you were going to be in an updated area on Monday - were you not able to get your router updated?

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

My exchange was listed in the very first list that NewsreadeR gave out but wasn't in the second or subsequent lists. The router's still checking for an update, but hasn't picked anything up so far:
      Code:
      Start Post info to server
      select_fvc_server_domain:dg834gt.skyfirmware.com...
Get file provisiong http: dg834gt.skyfirmware.com, 00184Dxxxxxx...
Failed to get fvc file by wget...
      FVC file get time interval_1-10: 8 mins:60...
      select_fvc_server_domain:dg834gt.skyfirmware.com...
Get file provisiong http: dg834gt.skyfirmware.com, 00184Dxxxxxx...
Failed to get fvc file by wget...
      FVC file get time interval_1-10: 10 mins:60...
End Post info to server failed
Start check ppp PADT by provisioning...

      ^

telnet the router using mognuts and type in the following commands (james takes the credit for finding out about the commands )

telnet the router and type in the following commands..
      nvram unset daily_check
      nvram unset nvram_need_post
      nvram unset ppp_terminate
      nvram unset prov_last_attempt_time
      nvram unset prov_last_update_time
      nvram unset prov_post_status
      reboot
the router should search for the new FW within the first 10-15mintues of router startup providing it hasent already searched for it. The router has a limit for searching for new FW. The limit is 3 times daily there is no way to change that AFAIK.

I'm not so sure that that actually works, to be honest. I thought it did, and it certainly appears to work sometimes, but it's not completely reliable.

I think I've got a way of forcing the router to check for an update that works more reliably. I just need to do a few more tests...
