I have had persistent but irregular connection problems

I have done all that is possible with internal wiring and faceplates - with great improvement

.........I have always been unimpressed with router

things have been good for about 3 weeks now, I can even leave permanantly connected

      I look forward to update.........

What will the new version code be?

I would like to know this too. If not I will carry on using my dlink router and wait and see what sky do about it.

They get over 60/mth out of me at the moment and I'm out of contract on the TV & BB so lets see how it plays out.

      Yeah same here.

The thing is, the DLINK router has some excellent plusses (if Sky go the TVIP route), with QOS as a default in the firmware.
I only put the dlink on when we have 2 or more xboxes running at the same time, so it's not as though I'm taking the pee and completely throwing the netgear in the loft.

      True.

      I'm using the DLINK dsl-2604b router to connect wired 1 PC & 1 Xbox360, connect wireless 1 PC, 1 laptop, another xbox360, 2 PSPs.

Everything works, both xboxs open NAT, stable and everything on my network talks to one-another straight out of the box.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

Just wondering what would happen if the router is turned off, will it update as soon as it is turned on? And will there be a warning that it is updating or can i just be surfing the internet then my computer just disconnects?

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

If your router is not turned on when the update happens then sky will try to issue it to your router again untill they get you with your router on it will not be neccessarily when you switch the router on the next time and the internet will disconnect and you will not be able to go on the net so you will know anyway.
