The same way it works for everyone else, Sky will send the update to the router and it will automatically update. Not sure I understand your question.

Well that's odd. Given that the router identifies itself by passing its MAC address, I'd have thought it would have been done in blocks of MAC addresses.

But I suppose doing it by exchange makes support easier if things go wrong. If someone phones up and says that their router has stopped working, the customer won't have to read out their MAC address over the phone - it'll be immediately apparent whether the problem is upgrade related, or some other issue.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!

Like many others, I suffer from the router misbehaving due to the noise margin dropping below 7 in the evenings.
Rather than use the mossywell utility to automatically reboot, I have chosen to force the router to operate in the G.DMT mode rather than the ADSL2+ mode and accept the lower speeds in return for a 100% reliable connection.
My question is what will happen if the update occurs when my router is connected in the G.DMT mode?

I would imagine that you should be OK - The problem with Mossywell's application is that if a website is detected as not responding then it will force a reboot of the router.

This is most likely to happen once the update has started as you would not be able to surf the Internet. And hence a reboot maybe initiated.

I mean if they are doing it exchange to exchange, (easynet exchanges), will they just do all the connect customers in one go? Or also pick customers on certain exchanges and do them together?

Information suggested, is that the updates will be rolled out on an exchange by exchange basis. I would have thought that Sky / Easynet would do all customers per exchange even if they are on Connect or any of the LLU products.

Rumour suggests that these upgrades have indeed started at 12.00am this morning.

Re: Sky Trial V1 Firmware for Netgear DG834GT

Hi, my F/W is version 1.03.87. Don't know when it was updated. Only trouble is mossywell's bounce doesn't work anymore.
      Any ideas

Why do you need to still use the bounce util? Is the connection still poor?
