I've not posted in threads like this before, but I've got the V1 router, and it's been operational since Feb 2008 without a problem (i.e. yes I have turned it off, now and then, but it doesn't need to repeated resets that some people seem to suggest it needed.)

It may be due to the fact that mine's vertically mounted in a cool area (so doesn't overheat) so I'm waiting to see if this new firmware destroys humanity.

      Re: V1 Router FW Rollouts?

The thing with the V1 routers is that people's experience varied from 100% no problems to totally unusable. A friend of mine's experience was for the throughput to be normal during the day but at 4pm it would drop to virtually unusable. What Sky are striving for is a consistent firmware from Netgear for their Phase 1 routers that is not so variable.

Those who are not experiencing any issues with their Phase 1 router shouldn't worry, for them there will be no change.

By contrast the Phase 2 Netgear and Sagem routers seem to be much more stable, so there is hope for all.
It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer.

I do hope that is true.

I have yet to experience a firmware upgrade
that has not caused problems and crashes.
