1 Millionth Customer Switches to Sky Talk

Sky signed up its one millionth telephony customer today. The news confirms Sky Talk's position as the UK's fastest growing home telephone service, as more customers choose to take advantage of the savings available when they make the hassle-free switch.

The increasing popularity of Sky Talk is part of the trend for customers to get all their home entertainment and communications services in one convenient package. Sky is also the UK's fastest growing broadband provider and around three out of four people who switch to Sky for TV and broadband are choosing Sky Talk for their calls as well.

In the latest annual broadband survey by JD Power, 46% of broadband customers said they were interested in taking their telecoms services from a single provider and Sky was named as the number one choice to switch to.*

Jeremy Darroch, Sky's Chief Executive, commented:

“We entered the broadband and telephony sectors 18 months ago because we saw that customers were paying too much for services from BT and cable. We decided to launch Sky Broadband and Sky Talk and offer better quality and value ourselves.

“Savvy customers are moving away from the big telephone companies. There's increasing awareness that you don't have to pay high prices to get high quality services. After just a year and a half, a million customers have chosen Sky Talk and we already have well over a million broadband customers.

“More than ever, customers want to combine services from one trusted supplier. With prices starting at just 16 a month, many people are finding that they can upgrade to great quality TV, telephone and broadband from Sky for less than they are paying for broadband alone.”
