It seems to me that at times Sky can have a large amount of offers, be it advertised ones retention etc.

I have never paid for any installation for our setup at home due to the system saying I could have it for free it I signed up for what I wanted there and then.

Even when I got the HD box I thought there was going to be a 60 charge as we got a discount on the box but no the installation was magically waived for us cos my wife asked nicely.

Considering Sky consistantly makes 800+ million a year even when splashing out on buying Easynet then Amstrad the following year, they made a cool 30 million profit on Hogfather DVD sales, you would think they would just scrap the install charge anyways and try and push to make as much money as they could on the TV shows and services.

Just for people to know, sky have know made the changes to the set up fee that I was referring to earlier in the thread.
The set up fee for base is now 60, for for mid is now 30, and is now free for max.

Partly because of this, I've now joined sky broadband. So see you lot soon lol

      yep.
Would like to just give a thanks, as this site has saved me 100 now in total.

I first read about the sky+ curry's deal in december on this site, and got it (had been wanting sky+ or a DVR for a while), so that saved me 70. And now having waited a week, saved the 30 it would have cost for the set up fee.
