Someone mentioned that telnet was locked out on the new V2 netgear router?

Easy one to bypass this is when logged in to your netgear router is to add this to the ip after logging in. setup.cgi?todo=debug so the url should look like this http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug

So far though I have not yet been able to gain access using telnet but will keep on trying ....

      Don't work on the Sagem

      Error result
      Error Message:

Error 400: Bad Request, No request found.
Just tried it on mine, which I am happy to report is still 100% solid, unlike my phone line, or someone's Xmas lights.

Go round to their house and kindly ask if at night they would mind turning the lights off as it is causing some problems with your internet connection and you are losing business due to the downtime.

Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

I've just been sent the netgear dg934g but haven't got my activation date yet. In the limited instructions sky gave me it says "There are 2 yellow ports [ethernet] on the back of your router.... The blue and green ports are for future services we're developing."
I do hope that this doesn't mean I can only use 2 of the ethernet ports as I need at least 3 at the moment. Do the Blue and Green ethernet ports work as normal?

Yup, both the blue and green ethernet ports work also. It is a 4 port router so you have 4 ethernet ports avilable to you.

Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

Works ok 16mg straight off the bat.
I am 0.9 km from exchange which helps! with a db of 11 shame sky cap it at 16meg but i should not be greedy !
Did think the wireless was weak but changed from default channel 6 to 11 which sorted it.
Considering it has to go through a very thick old external wall it's very impressive wireless strength.

Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

Having put the 6 month old Linksys on ebay i discovered the way to get the user/password out.
Out of the new V2 router? Or the White one?

Awesome. I was worried that sky might have done something to the blue and green ports so they can be used for these future services but unusable for normal ethernet. It was not clear in the instruction leaflet.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest.

One other question, will i be able to change the SSID and network key from the default one supplied by sky?

I will shortly be creating a load tutorials in flash regarding the new v2 netgear router.

      Stay tuned.

Received my letter this morning giving me my portal password. Now sky are wanting security and embedding the us and pw in the router but then failed to actually seal the envelope? So who knows how many people have this password now lol. Looks like im going to change it very quickly...
