Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

How will the firmware upgrade work for people using the Original router? - AND for those using alternative routers?

Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

You mean, how will they send the upgrade? It'll be sent automagically down the pipe and install itself, most likely involving total loss of connection until we all reboot the things. As for alternative routers, it won't work, it'll bounce off, so to speak

The router I was given is a Netgear one DG934G - I have changed the signal to 1 but I still get drop outs....

Bit of a long shot, have you tried updating the drivers for your wireless card / USB / Laptop built in etc?

I have had no problems whatsoever with the Netgear wireless for the last 30 hours or so.

Why should I the previous one worked without issues why sshould I have to update the drivers just beacuse I have a new router? Why would this make a difference?

Because driver updates are generally intended to improve functionality and interoperability, so it's always worth making sure you have the latest driver available

Re: Sky send us both new routers to review

Well after 48 hours of use on the Netgear V2 router, I am happy to report that it is 100% rock solid in my testing.

I have just connected the Sagem F@ST 2504 router and will have a play with th
