Re: Problems With Sky and Email

I've changed to Sky broadband this week and I can't use Windows Mail in Vista or Outlook to access my email accounts. This is on two totally different computers so starting to wonder if we made a good choice going with SKY? I don't mind losing the freeserve access but I cant be doing web based email for the rest of my natural!
I've done everything that SKY told me and they referred me to Microsoft where after pressing all the options you get "sorry that number is no longer availabe". I just want to use outlook or windows mail to access my new sky address and my old freeserve address. When it looks like it's working I just get a continual splash asking for username and password that keeps repeating itself when I click ok. Do I need the smtp server mentioned elsewhere on the site? Help me please cos this is not a great start, it's like having a computer and going back to pidgeon post!!

Re: Problems With Sky and Email

In the meantime you can access both of your email accounts by going to mail2web.com - Pick Up Your Email and inputting your details.

I know it's not a permanent fix but it may get you out of trouble until you manage to fix your settings.

Re: Problems With Sky and Email

If you are setup correctly and are still getting user name and password prompts when you try to send receive you may need to go to www.sky.com/unlock (close your POP software first) and then put your details in.

Re: Problems With Sky and Email

I always use Outlook Express with my sky email, but use Postcast Server to send.
Saves all that messing about with secure SMTP settings!
