"Download all your mail with one program. You no longer have to logon to the server for each address"
      Wouldn't that be brilliant?[/QUOTE]

You can with sky webmail. There are 2 ways of doing this:
You set each account to forward email to one address. "Forwarding and POP" under "Mail Settings".
Or you can set one account to collect all your email. Also under "Mail Settings" - "Accounts" -"Get mail from other accounts"

Exclamation Re: Problems With Sky and Email

I am having problembs with Microsoft Outlook 2007 (not Outllok Express) it just dose not work! has anyone managed to get Outlook working? I have read suggestions about re-setting the smtp etc. but still no good. Sky themselves have emailed me saying that they do NOT support Outlook, if this is the case then they need to be talking to one of the world's leader's in software MIRCOSOFT to resolve this matter. I look forward to hearing if anyone has managed to get this Prog. working.

4square, yes you can do that, but you still have to logon.

I normally leave my PC on hibernate overnight, with the mains turned off. In the morning I restart, Outlook Express then checks for mail. Simple.

What puzzles me is why Sky have done this.

You may not be aware but this site is not run by Sky, but just a forum run by other Sky Broadband users.

Why should they need to talk to M/soft? It's the fault of Outlook that it won't run with Sky, not the other way round. M/soft are not the only makers of operating systems used in a computer, there's Apple MAC and many different Linux distros too.

Brian A Whyte, try with Outlook Express to test the system. You have activated POP in Tools, haven't you?

DD777, Au Contraire! If Sky have forced a system on to users that will not work with a large percentage of customers' software, that is a commercial disaster.

I suspect this is not the official line, rather an advisor using a cop-out phrase. Maybe it will be picked up in training.

There is no problem with Outlook and Sky email working together. The main problem seems to be that Sky have not been very successful at transferring some people over to the new system and some accounts have become locked or corrupted.

In addition, some users just need to update their software to the latest service packs (which is normal) and others did not get the instructions from Sky and were surprised to find their email working.

It would be fair to say that there have been a sizable number of people who simply didn't follow the instructions - I've kinda lost count of the number of people who state that their settings are correct, only to find that they are not!

You didn't read the posts above. I repeat that this forum is operated by Sky users, NOT Sky. I am not an advisor, I am not even employed by Sky, but am a self employed plumber!

The only reason I use this forum is that I am a sky B/band user just like you.

Maybe what grahamdeepwell was referring to? ie the person sending it to the recipient?

DD777, you seem to be convinced we all think this is an official Sky forum. I, for one, don't.
