Re: Sky Have Listened To The Gamers

I just fired my request off using the online form.

I was only connected yesterday the speed is slightly better than my old (and more expensive) provider.

I used to get pings of 25-35 on the other ISP, it is currently at 63 with sky. I am literally a stones throw from the exchange so line quality shouldn't be an issue.

I will let you know when they come back and post the stats. Thanks for all the helpful posts here!

Re: Sky Have Listened To The Gamers

Took them 2 days Not bad

I used the online form, I got an obscure message back from someone saying the "problems with your line" were being looked at and they would make changes to make it more stable. This was slightly worrying but i think it was just an out of the box response.

I checked last night and my d/l speed is slightly higher and my pings are now down to 35-40 from 85.

Thanks for the help here everyone.

:Update - More like 25-30 pings now. Very happy indeed

Re: Sky Have Listened To The Gamers

I don't play online games too often, but when I do UK servers are generaly 30 - 60 and to be honest I don't think that is bad when you look at my line :P

Downstream: 8190kbps
Upstream: 796kbps
Line Attenuation Down: 41.5db
Line Attenuation Up: 24.5db
Noise Margin Down: 2.5db
Noise Margin Up: 13.0db

My downstream Noise margin is really bad lol but my internet seems to work fine, web pages load, MSN stays connected downloads max out the connection and my ping is still quite low on UK servers, must have a rather tolerant line lol.

-EDIT- Downstream just dropped to 2.2db lol

Re: Sky Have Listened To The Gamers

Your telephone number should be enough for them to get the account details up but name on account, address and any password would also be good as it will provide DPA clearance for the requrst. Using the Kana for on the sky.com site is the easy route for email, there is no email address for cst etc.
