      can the regrade to everyday (which i have just gone through) increase the ping?

      my ping has always been 26-27ms after i had my max delay reduced to 8 about a year ago...... it has now just jumped up to 37ms after the regrade....

      This thread is really just about getting Delay reduced. If you are only 224 Ms from the exchange, you have more serious problems. Start your own thread in the Broadband Help Section, include your router stats from its normal position and from the Test socket, link below. Don't bother too much with ping times until your speed is sorted out. You should be getting 19-20Mbs.

      I just left it too see what happened

      Just had my max delays decreased to 8.

      Sky emailed saying they could do this tho my connection speed would suffer, it has but not by a huge amount which I can live with.

      PING 84.234.17.86 (84.234.17.86): 56 data bytes

      56 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=1 ttl=124 time=25.0 ms
      56 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=2 ttl=124 time=25.0 ms
      56 bytes from 84.234.17.86: icmp_seq=3 ttl=124 time=25.0 ms

      --- 84.234.17.86 ping statistics ---
      4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
      round-trip min/avg/max = 25.0/26.2/30.0 ms

      My ping prior to this was around 60ms.

      This is a copy of email received from Sky:

      Sorry for the delay in replying to your message.
      I have attempted to reduce your Max Delays, however whenever I decreased them your Broadband connection speed dropped.
      It looks like we could provide you with a Max Delay of 8, if we reduce your connection speed to 5.5Mbps. At the moment I have done this so that you can compare the level of service you are getting.
      If you wish us to increase the speed and the Max Delays, please respond to this email.
      I hope this information has helped with your enquiry. If you require any further assistance, you can respond to my email.
      You can also contact our Customer Services team on 08442 41 41 41, where one of our advisors will be happy to help.

      my mate sent an email via kana asking for the max delays to be reduced to 8 and linked to this forum and they replied the have no idea what he was talking about....

      It has obviously gone to one of the clueless agents. He can try again by email, but it is far better to phone. Tell Tier 1 you want your delays reduced and you should be put straight through to CST, who will do it in minutes.

      She just had to speak to a manager to get the go-ahead first though.
