Picnic Broadband?

We have reason to believe and *think* that the new name for Sky's non TV customer broadband product is called Picnic Broadband.

All of the following domains have been ordered by the same person / company.

picnicbroadband.com
picnicbroadband.co.uk
picnicuser.co.uk
picnicuser.com
picnicuser.tv

So if it is Sky, they have purposely stopped the possibility of anyone buying the domains:

picnicuser.co.uk
picnicuser.com
picnicuser.tv

These have all been registered by:

Quote:
Domain Name: picnicbroadband.com

Registrar Name: Markmonitor.com
Registrar Whois: whois.markmonitor.com
Registrar Homepage: MarkMonitor: Internet Fraud Prevention and Brand Protection
Incidentally the same company that bought / registered SkyCast

Re: Picnic Broadband?

Looking at the domain names registered, and also the fact that .tv ones are registered, I would read into that this is going to be tied in with some kind of Freeview deal? or in fact a new brand of Freeview.

Re: Picnic Broadband?

That's a ridiculous name, you would think something like skylive would be more appropriate

Re: Picnic Broadband?

I agree, what a daft name. I wonder what the idea was behind the descion to nab the picnicuser.co.uk domain, perhaps Sky have seen the success of this site and want to start up a site of their own...

Re: Picnic Broadband?

Well, if we are honest, we went to register them, but got knocked back obviously, it was then that we saw the information about the registrant Markmonitor.com

Which just ties too much into the other Sky domains.

Re: Picnic Broadband?

Its common practice for a company to purchase all domains that may cause there company or copyrights before someone else does.

Interested in seeing how this pans out.
