Re: Picnic Broadband?
Well this is all good fro sky but they are still way behind cable in terms of speed.
Im sure when VM start doing their LLU which will be soon it will level the playing field.
LLU is the way to go - good luck to all upto 8Mb max users on sky's wonderful service when ill be sat on 50MB around xmas
happy days

Re: Picnic Broadband?
So VM are doing LLU? If so then wont that be ADSL2+ so 24Mb max?
VM haven't even got analog cable where I live, let alone fancy fibre and 50Mb speeds.
Big question is.... I pay £10 for up to 16Mb, how much is VM for 50Mb?

Re: Picnic Broadband?
At least Sky are investing in their network though, something that VM don't appear to be doing. When was the last time that VM laid a piece of cable?

Sky's LLU service is capable of up to 16mb not up to 8mb.
Simple fact of the matter is VM can't even cope with 20mb speeds and others complain that they are severely throttled on it. So when it gets to 50mb, it's just going to be worse. Bad Times.

Re: Picnic Broadband?
Cable isn't available in my area and it would seem that VM don't have any plans to make it available any time soon. A connection of 50MB is all very well if your doing lots of movie downloading or are a very heavy user. For me though it would be money down the drain. I'd also have a problem giving Branson any of my money, rather it was Murdoch than him.
Anyway before I get an infraction lol, do you think Sky registered all these domains to stop forums like this or to offer it themselves where they can control what is posted?

Re: Picnic Broadband?
I would say to stop forums like this, obviously they want to be in control of what is posted.
PicnicHell is unavailable to register.

Re: Picnic Broadband?
No VM will be doing 16MB or more on LLU - how would you know they cant do a solid 20Mb connection when you dont have one!
i get 20mb 24/7 - im sure 50MB will be the same
as for laying cable they dont need to anymore - hence why they are running LLU for people like red
its swings and roundabouts and im glad i am off the sky roundaboutLast edited by NewsreadeR; 30-08-07 at 03:05 AM.
