i've just said what it is. NR has said:

-it will make the competition very afraid
-has no benefits to those already on sky or those looking at moving (ie those outside of a contract).

By buying out people with less than x mths on their current contract, it will make the competition afraid as they will lose custom that they thought was guaranteed and it fits the criteria of those that won't benefit from the change.

      So:

For example, if you're on BT Broadband but have got 3 months left of the minimum contract but want to move across to Sky BB. Sky will buy out the BT contract to enable the switch?

      Re: Exciting new Rumour

      nice idea though....

you got to ask your selfs what could Sky do to get more customers to move to them from other isp's ?

P.S may have to lock this thread as it is obviously torture to some lol

Well that's obvious then. They have bought BT and are going to take on OFCOM by closing the local loop to ISPs.

      Re: Exciting new Rumour

dont think sky would be allowed to buy out another isp's contract and i dont think they could advetise it [this would be the selling point]

come to sky bb from bt etc and we'll buy out the remaining 6 months contract from them think other isp's might just take them to court if they tried that.

      Re: Exciting new Rumour

Seeing as Sky BB is only available as part of a loyalty plan (having to have the TV service) then I think we deserve something good.

Well my only three suggestions are:

      Gift of some sort.
      Faster speeds.
      Ability to buy out contract.
Offer such as = If you have Sky BB and TV we'll give you HD free.

But then that wouldnt work as some people already have HD.

Removing the base package and making the Mid package free?

      Please.

      Re: Exciting new Rumour

But they could just offer to re-imburse a new customer of any buy-out costs from leaving their old ISP!
