Well to be honest it doesn't matter because I think when my contract is up I'm changing ISP. Today the SMTP server has been playing up again and tonight I have discovered my speed had dropped from 7mb down to 1.2mb

Numerous reports telling us that Sky have rolled out a new firmware update on the new Sky V2 Routers over the last 48 hours.

where do i go to update the firmware on my sky router and how do i know what version my router is?

If you have the white Sky router, that's known as the V1 router, there is no new firmware released for it at the moment.

However there is info in the Tech forum.

was going to buy a gigabit router soon (to plug into thr sky netgear), but i might hold off for a while now and see if these have those ports. Then the next task will be to figure how i can get one out of sky.

just an update for anyone else also interested in what i wanted. Decided not tto wait, and just ordered the Netgear GS605 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch, which will go nicely with the current sky modem.

Any suggestion on the possible timeframe rollout for this new router? How long do Sky trials normally last?

As for timescale, no idea.

However we know that there was a firmware upgrade sent out some time today for the V2 router. No idea what this fixes / fixed and do not know if it applied to the Sagem or Netgear router.
