If it is a Sagem, However unconfirmed, It will most probably be shipped on the Basis of New Customers and older as the Netgears fault up.

I wouldnt say this is a Secret Project - Sky have mentioned looking into a update revised VoD service which will use the Sky Broadband connection.

For purely selfish reasons, I do hope that it isn't the Sagem 2404: it's another router that is not a VPN tunnel endpoint.

A colleague at work has just had Sky broadband installed and he has told me that the router that he received from sky is a Linksys. He does not know what model it is though.

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

Well I have had a new router shipped due to a fault (eventually, but that's another story).

If I get anything other than a Netgear, I'll let you all know.

That is interesting to hear as my Brother was activated last week and is waiting on his router to turn up. Hopefully it will turn up in the next day or to so it will be interesting to see what one they have sent him.

We sort of mentioned Linksys ages ago and were laughed at, if it is Linksys, they are a great router.

We need a photo of the router

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

I dont think Linksys has a VOD and Home Media thing combined with a ADSL2+ Wireless Router.. Its either a Router or a Media Streamer.. Cant seem to find one with all of the features combined.

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

Sky ain't short of money, they could have one made exclusively for them and still be quids in.

The Linksys is a good route to take, however this was strenuously denied by a nice person on my MSN contact list.

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

I dont think Sky will wanna spend more- Even though they could, When they could get a deal with e.g, Sagem, for a All-In-One that needs a few tweaks, But on the terms of Value for Money, I think alot of people would rather have a Linksys aswell, They are major players in the IT Game and are used in the Public Sector aswell as Business.
