Sometimes it can be really handy to have a static generating gun for testing the EMC succeptability of electronic equipment.
It can kill stuff off quite easily.... lol

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

It (if it is Sagem) will most likely be based on the 2404.

Taken From Sagem Site;
Quote:
To offer IPTV services (HD TV, VoD,…) and wireless high speed Internet access at the same time
Quote:
The Sagem F@stTM 2404 version has four Ethernet ports and, in option, one USB host port, allowing, for example, to connect a hard disk or a dongle memory to increase the storage capacity.

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

If they want to increase take up of their video on demand (in their battle with that nice Mr Branson), then presumably they will upgrade us all eventually.

But what I can't fathm out is why the Netgear router they sent me (and they sent me 2) are so c**p with their service!

I've still my old Netgear which is pretty new and the same model and that worked fine with my old provider - Eclipse. the problem I get with Sky is that I'm still conencted, but the badwidth seems to go to practically zero. All I can do is reboot the modem and that does the trick. Sometimes I have to hard reboot, so I keep a paperclip next to the modem.

Does anyone know why the Sky service is less reliable with the Netgear than other ISPs?

Greg

Re: The new Sky Router is on its way

I don't care if they send me a new router or not. I'm still going to use the billion 7402G. Im taking reliability over stinky old video on demand any day.
