      Re: Sky+ Subscriptions

what i pay for my sky has not gone down.

my payment date is the 7th of the month

      sky package

      from 07/06/2007
      to 06/07/2007

      sky+ charge

      from 07/06/2007
      to 30/06/2007
it does not complete the payment month and is only charged at £8 this is then rebated because i have a premium package.

My bill confirms that sky+ fee is no more after the 30th June

now that sky+ is free then does £17 represent good value for that premium package

it is about value for money

the evidence is speaking for itself as some people are dropping the premium stuff

Yeah, but Premium subscribers still had the benefit of free Sky+ sub. for a long, long, time before the rest of us non-Premium subscribers - they/you have already benefited, have already had a nice deal, good bonus, whatever. What Sky are doing is giving that to *everyone* now (well, except the poor ol' Freesat from Sky users).

      Value for money...

I do see your point, but Sky don't see it as, & never said it was, "£10 for Sky+ & £7 for Premium", it was simply "£17 for Premium with free Sky+"... and now we can all have free Sky+, even if only on a £15 Two Mix pack.

LOL, anyway, I don't think the Movie Mix is even worth £7.

If movies/sport is poor value & should be reduced in cost... that's a different issue.

nothing in life is free. it was an incentive to spend more.

I cant see anybody sticking with movies as a stand alone price of £17.

there are lots of people who look at it as only an extra £7
even though sky has never advertised it as so.
some people were prepared to pay £10 for sky+ due to working hours or other reasons, and its ease of use over vcr. and at a pinch movies or sport might be worth that extra £7

      Re: Sky+ Subscriptions

I have read with interest the views of newsreader and jimmycobra on this issue. From my point of view I was not prepared to pay £10 pm just for sky+,but for £6 on top of that I could get sports and another £6.50 on top again I could get movies, this seemed acceptable £43.50 for everything or £31 just for 6mix and sky+. I will now go back to just having 6mix with sky+ for £21 saving £22.50. This is great, I would happily buy sports & movies again but not at the current price the sky+ included was the thing that swayed me to have it. £5 for sports and £5 for movies would be fair.

well sky will need i think! one and a half new subscribers on a basic package to recoup the £22.50 you just saved.

in with that they will potentially have to provide free internet.

there has to be more to come from sky with this about premium packages, as most people agree movies is not worth £17 on its own.

true, but the only issue i have with the system now is you cant have the remote record from your mobile unless you pay fora sub service

im paying for the movies just so i can have remote record from my mobile - why? because it's part of anytime on mobile and unlike the website's claim of it being " free to all customers" it's not.

you can still use text and sky.com - however how can someone text if they dont know whats on? ( and if they are going to use sky.com they can remote record from there anyway) it's silly
