      Hi,
Axmatt where are you getting your facts from? I’ve been on fast path from day 1 when sky launched!

Thank you for contacting Sky Broadband Technical Support.

Your High Ping/Latency is due to the method that Sky provides your broadband. We use an interleaving service which, even though it provides high speeds on a stable connection, can cause the latency to increase. Other ISPs often provide what is called a fast path service. This fast path service will lower your ping/latency, at the cost of your speed and stability. Sky does not implement fast path, and it is policy that all customers must be set to Interleave. At this time, there is nothing that we can do to lower your latency, and there are no current plans to introduce Fast path onto the Sky service in the near, or distant future.

If you need further help or information, please reply to this email or contact us on 08705 515 515.

I play games fequently and even thought i have elivated pings it dosent bother me, dont get me wrong i would like to have 10 20 ping but its a number.
are you kidding me?! I used to be with V21 and their broadband, pings, stability and service was waaay better than what i have now with sky

if sky would just allow fastpath maybe things would get a little better for me but IMHO i dont think it will help much as packet loss and stability is really bad also but it should still help some.

I find the fact you refuse to take interleaving off peoples lines astonishing,do you realise how many potential customers you have lost by taking this stand?
No serious gamer is going to risk migrating and not being able to play for 12 months or having to pay to leave.
Well am with Sky Broadband, 8Mb on the connect package and am a gamer. Now granted i've been playing an old 2D on-line game but am also playing Guild Wars - a popular MMORPG and i've not really had any cause to complain about ping rates tbh.

However if you were to give me, and the other users who use your service to play online games, the option to transfer to fastpath so that we can improve our pings I am sure it would be appreciated. I would be happy to pay a one-off fee for this to happen and I am sure that others would too.

      Kind regards

      My sentiments exactly!

      Re: Dear Sky Broadband

I was with telewast cable (now Virgin) for 5 years and swapped to sky as your prices looked so good.

I am sorry to say as soon as my contract is up I will go back to Virgin, I sometimes play Call of Duty online or I should say I did when I was with cable.
Your broadband service is terrible at best. I have not managed to shoot anybody on line since the change over.

I have phoned your tech dept and was told to upgrade my package and it would be better, what a load of cobblers my down load speed of 1.7 is as high as I can expect on my BT line, its the ping rate of 100 plus thats the problem.

I have already stopped my son and my daughter from swapping and will advise all who ask stay away from sky broadband
