Is this the same one that came on the CD, if so they are really pushing it. Me I have no plans to install it.

I think possibly this is for those that had 2006 version on the old CD Alan.

Coupled by the fact that the old one did not support VISTA whereas this one does.

The Vista non-support was nothing to do with BSkyB but more to do with McAfee as they have recently applied the Vista fix.

      Anyway good find Big Guy

PS. AlanB why accuse a company of "pushing it" when they give you the option of free software ???

      Re: McAfee Security Suite 2007

I installed it last night and I have to say it is much better than the old version.

It is more user-friendly, seems to load up quicker, and has a lot of little utilities like a registry and cache cleaner (I deleted a load of old restore points and freed up 4GB of disc space, lovely!), basic network viewer/manager (you can to get to the router page from there), backup and restore utilities, as well as the usual parental controls.

Overall it seems much better than the last. Probably still a resource hog, although I haven't checked that yet. I'll run it a while longer and see how it goes.

It is only free for a year and by giving this away they are hopeful that once the year is up people will start to pay for it, and I have no doubt that some people will do this.

I'm going to install this because I'm fed up with avast and I'm too tight to pay for anything else I'll let you know how I get on and if it screws up my PC. I think Sky should be nice and renew everyone's licence for them lol

Also does anyone know if the licence allows it to be installed on multiple machines or just the one?

      Re: McAfee Security Suite 2007

Oh I wouldn't pay for it Not sure how much they are asking for similar versions in the shops, probably around £50 and I wouldn't pay that for it for the simple reason that, it has lots of stuff on there that I don't really want or need.

Back to the freebies after a year, that's if it doesn't annoy me too much in the mean time.
