I dont think manipulating but trying to make it easier to mix & match channels/packages

      Sky.com - Products and Services>Packages>Movies

the Disney cinematic channels are not on the movie menu but under kids

Mmmmmm so we now seem to have sky sports or sky movies package, not sky movies 1 & 2 sports 1 & 2, so does this mean that people who only had one of the latter now have to pay more? If you only had sky sports 2 do you now have 1 as well and are you paying more for it?

i think for existing customers if you subscribe to only 1 sports package then you will only be able to view what was available for that package, tis is something we will have try and clarify though.

Re: Sky Movies has had it's big change today.

I dislike the change & the categories are meaningless:-
FAMILY -'The Perfect Man' ...romantic comedy.
FAMILY - 'The Sandidiot 2'...sports comedy.
      INDIE -...'Garden State'...offbeat comedy.
Why are these not under comedy?
We subscribed to Films 1 and received channels 1,3,5,7,9, which covered a range of types which is not the case now.
Another grouse - we subscribe to Sky Sports 1 and also 10 p.m. for HD but we cannot receive sport in HD as we don't subscribe to 1 & 2 Explain that please.

a lot of films will have a double category however they was probably placed in the family genre as they are safe for all to watch, as for the sports HD channel your have to ask Sky about that

Re: Sky Movies has had it's big change today.

I have to admit, i really don't like the new changes.
I agree with what Parallax said earlier - before the changes i was at least able to watch a film from the same genre on a number of different sky movies channels, but now if i'm interested in a specific genre i only really have the option of watching 1 movie at that time! - Thats surely going to upset a lot of people, especially when not everyone is around at peak viewing times when supposedly the best selection is on.

Also, is it me or are we getting conned with the new Sky Premiere channels, i mean we've lost 1 channel for sure with the addition of Premiere+1, but worse still, i'm sure i've just noticed that exactly the same movies are playing today that were on LAST night!! - I appreciate that Premiere is supposed to be showing the latest movies and its difficult to have new movies on all the time, but surely there should be enough selection to provide DIFFERENT movies for at least 3-4 days.

I feel as if i'm being taken for a ride - there was nothing essentially wrong with the previous setup - could it be that Sky felt the need to make a change due to feeling threatened by Virgin Media's VOD service and the lack of interest in the Sky Anytime option due to lack of selection?? - You know what they say "if it ain't broke..........."

Re: Sky Movies has had it's big change today.

I don't know why but they seem to do this reshuffling every couple of years. I gave up with SKy Movies last year after almost 18 years, far too many repeats thesedays. I much preferred it when there was just Sky Movies, Sky Premier and Sky Cinema.
Less channels less chance of seeing repeats every day!!

Agrees with Simon, Rather subscribe to a service with "fewer" channels and more content to watch - Yes I know, Then have "more" channels and less content.

Re: Sky Movies has had it's big change today.

This is one of the worst changes Sky have ever made!! Firstly, the premier channels are only on for a limited time now and secondly why are the premier films not on HD? Sky have gone all out to blow their own Trumpet that they have the largest and best HD content, well come to the plate and blow People!!! An instance of this is the Harry Potter and the Golblet of Fire film Easter Monday and on premier all week at 8pm but not on HD Why oh Why do they keep letting their paying and loyal customers down? I have had the HD now since the first month and still we get a poor content, another instance is Sky One advertising Nip/Tuck HD, but hey it's not!!!!! The movies could have been a great change but yet again Sky have not done a good job of it. A way around this would be to put the really big films on Sky anytime HD or even more complicated for Rupert the bear and co, how about having a premier HD channel instead of +1??????
