I get SS when watching Freesat, Freeview or analogue.
When I switch on Sky HD the sound will only work through the TV?
I have tried a scart lead into Sky and that works with SS. It seems to be the HDMI cable which overrides the optical lead.
I have checked and re checked the settings in Sky / TV and tried everything (I think!)
I have tried the optical cable directly out of the TV, still no joy!
Does anybody out there have any ideas what I can do.

There shouldn't be a problem with your setup, but I have read of various problems with certain makes of surround sound/amplifier with Sky HD, and also some optical cables that just 'don't work' until they have been replaced. Don't ask me why, I'm just telling you what's reported elsewhere!
I've got my Home Cinema System hooked up with optical out from the Sky box, and the usual HDMI from Sky to the tv. There is no conflict. Sky Sound Settings are :
Audio Output - Stereo
Digital Audio Output - Dolby D
I use D-IN on the surround system as the audio input. Make sure you're using the correct audio source on your Philips.
No idea what your problem could be, except try changing Digital Audio Output to 'Normal' to see if anything's coming through, or try another cable. It could be a problem with the digibox's optical out. I assume you can see the 'red light' at the digibox and also at the end of the optical cable?
