I knew I'd get something extra for my 3 a month and here it is.
And there was me thinking that we had all been stung to pay for Premiership football.

Yes this would be useful, but the intention was that you should need to purge the Deleted tab.
I take you meant you would not need to purge the list. I know that is the idea but it depends on the software working 100% or the box becomes overfull and this causes problems. Maybe if they increased the amount of free space always available it would allow it to work better. I have yet to see any programs being deleted automatically. The fact that stacks don't carry over to the Deleted folder is a bit annoying especially if deleting individual programs is slower.

How people like the new Planner depends on personal choice. Like anything new it will take some time to get used to.

Well spotted, yes that is what I meant.

When you remove an item from the planner and it goes to the deleted tab, the free space is automatically revised.

When your STB actually requires the free space, the deleted files are wiped so that a new recording can be made. If there isn't enough space available and the deleted tab is empty, then the STB will use the previous system and remove the oldest viewed recording, so long as it isn't marked for keeping.

Glad I have installed a 2Tb drive and don't have to worry about space for recording!

If only there was a bit more stuff that was worth recording.

I only have the standard box. In past years I have struggled to keep up with the box bulging at the seams with unwatched shows. The last year and 2015 up to now, the fullest it's ever been is 70% free. Most days I watch shows as they are recording.

Like some others, due to the dire standard of new shows and the rediculous frequency of repeat showings on both normal and time lapse channels, I am beginning to question the worth of my TV subscription. Just like the Beebs TV tax it is certainly not good value for money and will certainly get even worse throughout the Summer season.
