      I reckon it'll be full.

OK so deleted everything and still the same so unscrewed both satellite connectors and re-did them, and fingers crossed its OK now!!! think one of the fine wires was crossing the thick centre wire and causing a short, if this is possible??? Anyway, thanks for all your help.

Very possible. It would probably cause the system to work as a single feed, possibly intermitently, which would effect what was being downloaded on the fly.

If so, try undeleting or permanently deleting some (or all) programmes, pop it into standby for a few mins & give it a go.
This seemed to be a contributing factor for me & a few others with similar issues.

That was while on the old firmware though.
      Hi Folks,

I am new to Sky+HD. Is it a requirement to manually empty the deleted folder occationally - I thought it would be automatic after a time period ?

No it is not mandatory and yes the STB will automatically remove items from the deleted folder when you record something new and the space is required.

Personally I empty mine out periodically. At moment I haven't purged mine on my main STB for a couple of weeks.

Why do I do it? Simply because hard drives can become fragmented it a new recording does not have enough room. However PVRs, such as the Sky+ HD STB, do not suffer from this as much as a drive on your computer.
