Re: you can now pair your viewing card online

I've just tried this (pairing a card, not using the hair dryer), and it's very easy to follow but didn't work, just came up with a message saying it wasn't possible to complete my request and told me to contact Sky.

A quick call and it was done. A little strange because I was just putting the card back into the original SkyHD box it came with but hey ho, fixed now.

Re: you can now pair your viewing card online

Sorry its been a while on this.
What i've been doing to get over this is set up both boxes next to each other with 1 of the dish feeds into a spliter but only ever have 1 box plugged (power) in at a time.
So new 2TB box is running all fine with the card in. When it's not recording i shut it down then power it off and unplug from the wall socket.
Then switching the card to the old box plug it in, power it up and it works fine to get to the recorded stuff anyway as thats all i wanted to do was to run down the recorded shows we had as the new box starts to fill up.
The only thing is that its getting harder to find time when its not recording something but the old box is nearly empty now so its soon of to the shed.
Hope this helps anyone. If i'd know this would work would have upgraded my box a long time ago.

      Cheers B.

A switch would have been better than a splitter as this would ensure that the feed could only be connected to one box at a time. It would also have a lower insertion loss and remove the requirement to unplug the box that was not in use.
