Sky+ HD 2TB box 49 for existing HD customers

As anyone with an existing HD subscription managed to get the new 2TB box for 49? Apparently the offer is 49 for customer's who take out their "first" HD sub or a multiroom HD subscription.

If I were to cancel my HD sub do you think I'd be able to get it that way or will they view this as not my "first" HD subscription?

I looked on MySky and if I take out a new multiroom sub then I can get one for 49 - I already have 2 HD boxes.

ive tried and tried and tried to get one of these boxes cheaper. They do not want to let them go for less than 149
Bit unfair on the people who have been paying the 10 HD for years

Re: Sky+ HD 2TB box 49 for existing HD customers

I emailed CS politely last week and enquired about the upgrade price being unclear on the website and mentining that I had been a subscriber for a long time and that my Pace box was at times sluggish. I had a phoencall on Tuesday offering me the 2Tb box for 49. Arrived today

I've just sent a polite email to sky CS through their website with the content being along the same lines. See what happens hopefully will get an offer for a box. I feel it's a bit steep offering them for 149 to customers who have been paying a lot to sky over the years but i guess business is business. No harm in asking though

      Thanks for this turbohat

I have done likewise, I'm not impressed as if you take out a HD or multi room subscription you get it for 49.

My Sky + box in my other room doesn't even record anymore.

It's not 149 for existing HD customers, it's actually 209 as don't forget about the mandatory rip-off 60 installation fee on top of the 149 box price as well. 2 minutes to swap boxes over costs me 60, I don't think so Sky!!!

You can actually get it as self install - You choose it at the checkout, and that is 15

Also if you call them, sometimes you can get free self install meaning you'll pay nothing. Just ask them to see what offers are available when they are putting the sale through.

Re: Sky+ HD 2TB box 49 for existing HD customers

No dice I'm afraid. They offered it me for 164. Even went through cancellations and they couldn't do me an offer so that's the tv package cancelled. Refuse to pay 164 when I didn't even get an offer when I first got HD 6 years ago I paid 300 for the original Thomson box. Just annoys me new subscribers get it for 49 yet old and loyal customers are charged more. Appreciate it's business but they've just lost 65 a month from me for the sake of saving 100 overall.
