      "slaving sky hd"

      Hi all,

didnt know about this forum, great idea.

Ok so. I have Sky HD and currently watch it on large tv in living room and it then routes back out the the various points in my house where i can plug co ax in (non hd then of course).

I'm re-doing my kitchen and it means that the kitchen TV would be on a wall v near my lounge tv.

SO.. I'm wondering, is there a way of getting an hd feed from my skybox so i can also watch in HD in the kitchen as well as the living room from the one box>?

Three ways you can do it a) a long HDMI cable to the second TV or b) HDMI over ethernet cable switch or c) a wireless HD sender. In all cases you would need an HDMI splitter to serve your main TV and the remote one.
      Cablesson® - 2 Way HDMI SPLITTER BOX 1x2 Port: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
      Neet® - HDMI Extender over Cat5 / Cat5e / Cat6: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Good wireless HD senders are expensive £130 upwards.

thats great thank you, v helpful, would it cause any picture or sound degradation to the primary tv?

also, would i actively have to switch between the two or can they both be on at once?

The splitter should send the signal from the Sky box to both TVs at the same time.

I assume the extender requires both ethernet sockets (rather than extending to two locations) and I assume they wouldn't work with homeplugs?

As a suggestion, I appreciate the Multi-room will add ~£120 a year to your bill, but with the Planner Sharing option being added hopefully early next year, why not consider getting a Multi-room box?

The SkyHD STB will be able to access the contents of the planner on the main Sky+ HD STB (hopefully others too for those home which have more than one) and you can also watch you own TV channel which you have subscribed to on the main package.

It requires 2 cables, so it would not work with Homeplugs.
