Question Amstrad DRX780UK 1TB HDD Upgrade - Advice on which HDD to Purchase?

Hi, I have an Amstrad DRX780UK which I would like to upgrade. I believe a 1TB HDD is the maximum capacity drive I can fit. Most threads on this subject are fairly old and the HDD recommendations are out of date.

I would appreciate if anyone could provide some suggestions as to which drive I should purchase.

      TIA
      Spadge

Look for a drive which is designed to run in a PVR. Western Digital and Seagates both manufacture drives to this standard, these articles will give you an idea of what to look for.

Re: Amstrad DRX780UK 1TB HDD Upgrade - Advice on which HDD to Purchase?

thanks for your suggestion, do you know if 1TB is the maximum capacity or can a 1.5 or 2TB drive be fitted?

From your links I have found this drive

      Western Digital AV-GP WD10EUCX 1 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive priced at £66.52 (http://www.okobe.co.uk/ws/product/We...ive/1000060492)

It is a SATA 6 GB/s drive with a 16MB cache, is this suitable or do I need a drive with a SATA 3GB /s interface and higher cache size?

I am pretty sure it will take a 2Tb drive. Have a look here-
