      Second hand Sky HD box

      Hi

Hope you can give me some advice.

I currently have Sky+HD with multiroom (multiroom box is a standard Sky+ box) my sister used to have sky but gave it up and has a black samsung Sky+HD box and gave it to me to replace the standard sky+ box, I thought it would have been a simple switch around using my existing viewing card which would now give me access to the HD channels as its an HD box in the multiroom now but when I put the sky viewing card in it still only shows the standard channels and when I try view one of the movie channels it says its the wrong viewing card?

I tried my sky+HD viewing card in this samsung box and it shows the HD channels but still says its the wrong viewing card.

I take it I will need to get a new viewing card for HD to work on this new box? if so does it cost?

      any info would be great.

      thanks

You should simply call Sky and ask them to pair the Card with the Samsung Sky+ STB. When yo do this also ensure that the HD channels are corrected and Anytime+ is enabled on the STB, if you intend to connect it to your home network that is.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps (in inital connection time)
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Thanks Scubbie.

What do you mean with "ensure that the HD channels are corrected" ?

Sky should swap the SD & HD channels for those who subscribe to them.

106 should be Sky1 HD not Sky 1.
