Does the -c or -r etc after drx890 denote if it's slim model?

      Thanks

      all drx890's are slim.

there were earlier sky+hd boxes made by thomson, pace & samsung that were larger, but they have different model numbers

Re: Buying New DRX890 - which version is slim model?

The current Sky STBs being supplied are:

      Sky+ HD STB (Amstrad DRX890)
      1TB Sky + HD STB (Amstrad DRX895)
      SkyHD STB (Amstrad DRX595)

The older Sky+ HD STBs are a little larger than the Sky+ HD STB. Today when I was in Cash Converters I noticed that they had a few different models available. You may wish to pop in to your local one to see if you can see what I am referring to.

There are rumours that Sky are developing another STB but these are rumours and there is no information to indicate when it will become available at this stage of confirmation of the specifications.

BTW: They were charging 39.99 for each of them. I didn't check to see if the two larger ones were either the Thomson, Amstrad DRX780 or Samsung models. Avoid the Thomson if you want to benefit from future firmware updates.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
