Sound issues
maybe a bit OT: I have got a problem with my sky box atm, i have setup anytime+, but when i download movies, ok, I download shaun of the dead movie, right at the beginning of the movie theres a glitch, and the audio goes out of sync, only way to fix the audio sync, is by fast forward or rewinding during playback after the glitch happens...then it happens again 3/4 through the movie...i thought it might be a bad download maybe...so I deleted the movie, then I redownloaded it, same problems...
also if your watching a downloaded movie, and the sky box tries to start recording a scheduled program during the time, i get a "recording interrupted" error on screen, then when it starts recording it returns to the downloaded movie...other times, it does this, then automatically fast forwards the download movie, i have to stop it to watch the downloaded movie...other times i get the same "recording interrupted" error, then looks like the sky box has crashed, i have to press the sky key to get back to live tv...and start the watching the downloaded movie again...it happens with all downloaded movies...but not recordings from live tv...
EPG version is...47.0.16.1
Model Number...R003.047.29.00P
Version Number...4F3001
Serial Number...0330123521

Re: Sound issues
I've moved this to a new thread as although some of the issues are related to the EPG, you know that you do not currently have the New EPG.
Although you tried download the movie again, did you try rewinding the movie a few seconds to see if it is in the recording or something else?
How is your STB connected up? i.e. do you use the HDMI for sound or one of the other sound output, if so which one
Is it just this movie or have you see that same thing occurring with other recordings? Personally I am convinced that sometimes Sky deliberately affect a part of the broadcast so that they can say it was recorded off their system, but I could be wrong.
As for breaks in what you are downloading, have you checked that your connection has been 100% stable all the time? I suspect that your Internet connection might have re-synced at some stage.

Re: Sound issues
ok,
when I rewound the movie back to before the audio glitch, up to the point where it does glitch. you can hear the audio skip, the glitch kicks in again, and I get the audio out of sync doesnt matter how many times...i got a feeling its the actual recording, as it happens 3/4 before the film ends too...
The sky HD+ box, is connected up via HDMI Video & audio, just a straight HDMI cable for box to a Samsung FullHD 32" LCDTV, to the 1st HDMI port on the tv itself. I believe i am using a HDMI 1.3 cable bought from tescos.
I had downloaded 4 movies, Jaws 2 & Jaws 3, shaun of the dead & star trek nemesis, Jaws 2 & Jaws 3 would come up with a "recording interrupted" error while watching them, then automatically fast forward them, and while the box is downloading other movies at the same time...I did notice that the HD was almost full, and it did stop Jaws 2 & Jaws 3 while i was watching them, causing the "recording interrupted" error, then the box removed the 2 movies, while downloading another movie, it was downloading the star trek nemesis HD movie at the time, so I went to remove some old recordings, bringing it down to 89% empty...
I then removed shaun of the dead, then redownloaded it, without doing anything, just watching live tv...after waiting for the download, i played it again, the same glitches were there, I watched star trek nemesis last night, it had no glitches at all...
Maybe if I used the keep option more often maybe it won't remove stuff...Last edited by jdsimp1234; 28-05-12 at 10:17 PM.

Re: Sound issues
I can't check at the moment as my Internet connection is too busy for my STB. I'll try and check tomorrow.
In the mean time could you confirm if you are downloading the SD or HD versions?
Also just how full is your STB? You will need some space to be available to download the movies. Whilst Anytime (renamed Showcase) content is kept to the reserved area, Anytime+ downloads take up the space reserved for your recordings.

Re: Sound issues
Ok, I've managed to get them downloaded. Jaws 2 was ready to view within a minute.
How far into the Movie did it crash?
It's a long time since I've watched it and I'm going to find it sooooo funny, after all I've dived with a lot of sharks and I find them to be lovely and graceful creatures.
I've also fought off a Trigger fish before now with my camera. One quick flash and it darted away from me. Great photo!

Re: Sound issues
I managed to watch Jaws 2 HD without any issues last night, beside laughing a lot.
So the issue is definitely at your end.

Re: Sound issues
maybe my STB is having stability problems with watching & downloading or recording while watching a download at the same time. the HD was close to full at the time & it was removing programs to make space...it just decided to remove the 2 jaws movies while i was watching them, to fit a download on there, hence the recording interrupted error, i'll use the keep option next time lol. Maybe the new EPG might fix the problem...what fixes are in the new epg? i tried regisdtering for it a while back last month, once i read your new epg post.
Try downloading & watching shaun of the dead thats the main audio sync issue in this post. I might download them again 1 by 1 to watch, see if there are problems...the 1st audio sync happens after the company logo that apears after the "canal" company logo, just before the movie starts...2nd audio sync issue appears 3/4 before the movie ends.

Re: Sound issues
It sounds like you need to perform a 'Planner Rebuild'.
To do this, using you remote control, press the following buttons:
<Services> <Right> <Down> 0 1 <Select> 7 <Down>
Before going any further please make sure that you have selected 'Planner Rebuild' and not 'System Reset'.
Follow the on-screen prompts to continue this rebuild process. It should take around 10-15 minutes. Once completed the STB will go off and will take around 5 mins to restart once you press the <Sky> button on your remote.

Re: Sound issues
I will try a planner rebuild, see these problems stop, of course i removed alot of old recordings after downloading shaun of the dead, brought the Hard drive down to 89% left. I have downloaded Jaws 2 & 3 again, see what happens...it was close to 83% left before I went to sleep...
Try downloading & watching shaun of the dead see if u can pick out the 2 audio sync issues...
